Since 1969 Kelso’s has been serving up some of the best in Kansas City Pizza. Our family-owned-and-operated business is named after our father Bill Kelso, a local major-league ballplayer who was drafted by the Angels in 1964 and finished his career in Cincinnati along the likes of Pete Rose and Johnny Bench in ‘68.
The restaurant is decked out in pictures, paintings, jackets and uniforms from his time in the big leagues, as well as trophies and photos celebrating local high school sports. The menu offers many baseball-themed specialty pizzas that are unique to the area, like the Tommy Lasorda— a white sauce pizza topped with chicken Spiedini (a breaded lemon-garlic chicken made famous in KC). Other favorites include the Dodger Pie and the Joe DiMaggio, each with plenty of Italian sausage, salami and pepperoni on top.
We also offer sandwiches, wraps and craft beer (and local favorites from Boulevard and other breweries can be found on happy hour). Enjoy your meal outdoors on our sidewalk patio in the heart of the District along NKC’s historic Armour Road storefronts!
Kelso’s is a great place to bring your family and take over a booth, or meet friends at the bar tops to watch our local teams. We’ve been a neighborhood favorite for generations and look forward to serving up pizza and watch parties for years to come!
